Norwegian 'X Factor' Finalist To Perform With KAMELOT In Olso

February 24, 2011

Norwegian "X Factor" finalist Atle Pettersen (pictured below) — who is also also the singer of Norwegian melodic prog metal band ABOVE SYMMETRY — will join KAMELOT on stage for an exclusive appearance at the group's May 15, 2011 concert in Oslo, Norway.

Pettersen had Marion Raven as a mentor in the "X Factor" program and finished a strong second in the final, which was watched by no fewer than one million viewers.

Commented Atle: "'X Factor' was already a highlight that I thought could not be topped. But singing with KAMELOT is really going to do that! I have been listening to their music for many years and joining Thomas [Youngblood, KAMELOT guitarist] and band on stage now will be totally awesome! I am very excited about it and can't wait!"

Added KAMELOT's Thomas Youngblood: "We are so looking forward to returning to Norway. I haven't been back since the writing sessions in Elverum last winter and I miss the people and nature of Norway. I still remember my first trip to Oslo over 10 years ago and have returned every year since. I recently met with Atle in Los Angeles and he is a super-cool dude, and he will kick some ass at the show!"

KAMELOT's unique Oslo concert — which will feature support from EVERGREY, CIRCUS MAXIMUS and AMARANTHE — will be professionally filmed.

Guest singers for KAMELOT's performance in Olso:

* Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY OF FIRE)
* Atle Pettersen (ABOVE SYMMETRY, "X Factor")
* Michael Erikson (CIRCUS MAXIMUS)
* Tommy Karevik (SEVENTH WONDER)
* Elize Ryd (AMARANTHE)
* Jake E (AMARANTHE)

KAMELOT was forced to cancel its fall 2010 North American tour after the band's vocalist, Roy Khan (full name: Roy Sætre Khantatat),was taken ill. However, the group still went ahead and played the ProgPower concert as a one-off performance with guest vocalist Michael Eriksen of the Norwegian metal band CIRCUS MAXIMUS.

Due to "continuing medical and personal issues," Roy Khan will not be able to finish the remaining touring in support of KAMELOT's latest album, "Poetry For The Poisoned".
